Overview: Belarus carried out an inventory of mercury to determine and monitor mercury emissions and releases including those from industries. The inventory would be the base for the national action plan, targeting the reduction and control of mercury emissions and releases in the environment. At the same time, Belarus developed a complete national legal analysis towards the ratification and compliance of the Minamata Convention and its economic and political impact.
