Comoros

The Union of the Comoros does not have any production of mercury-containing products, relying solely on imports. In Comoros, imported mercury-added products typically include items such as thermostats, thermometers, switches, medical or scientific instruments, electrical relays, lamps and batteries. Mercury-containing products can result in the release of mercury to the environment during the normal use of these products, through wear and tear, as well as their improper disposal. Many mercury-added products are found in households and industry.
