Uruguay


Overview: Mercury use in Uruguay is mostly found in industrial processes. Mercury is not used in either gold extraction nor in artisanal and small scale mining. Projects related to mercury include: an analysis of different products containing mercury, such as the life cycle of fluorescent lamps, mercury waste treatments, and alternative treatment and recycling. Uruguay developed a national mercury inventory in 2010.
