Overview: In Mali, mercury is mostly found in the artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) sector and in electrical equipment. In 2012, the Un Environment developed a national inventory on mercury releases. It was estimated that 480,910 kg of mercury are released each year. The country's population is of approximately 14,517,176 people.
